We are very pleased and excited that we have just received permission from the wonderful Dutch folk group, Folkcorn, to use their arrangement of “De Drie Gezellen Uit Roosendaal” (The Three Lads from Roosendaal) from their album Wie Sal Dan. For many years, Folkcorn has worked with old Dutch, Belgian and German music sources to bring some unique music to light, and this ballad has lovely chord progressions you just won’t hear in a modern song. Reading between the lines of their note to us, it seems clear that they were concerned about the quality of translation, which is not surprising given their experience in doing such work. Fortunately, they thought our translation was good!
Folkcorn's web page is http://www.folkcorn.nl/en/index.htm. We hope to work up the song up soon and make a recording.
